A CASED 7mm PINFIRE DELUXE POCKET-REVOLVER, serial no. 77817,
circa 1870, with two staged 3 3/8in. blued barrel, applied fore-sight, sighting notch to the hammer-nose, the right side of throat stamped 'E LEFAUCHEUX INV & BREVETE', open iron frame fully engraved with panels of foliage (strong traces of gilding), plunge ejector, Liege proofs, en-suite engraved plain cylinder with external ratchet locking, smooth ivory hump-backed grips and folding trigger, much original blued finish remaining to barrel, complete with its Continental market oak box lined and compartmented in the Continental style with dark green velvet and containing a turn-screw, oil-bottle and cleaning rod, a lidded compartment containing two empty containers for period pinfire bullets
